With a strong left-brained bent as an engineer from IIT-Delhi, I began my career in management consulting, soon morphing into a spreadsheet-jockey, the kind who built revenue forecast models without ever touching the mouse.
The constant immersion into new industries and problem statements every few weeks was deeply stimulating. Consulting also became my first real exposure to leading teams, navigating stakeholder complexity, and understanding how decisions actually get made in boardrooms. Project assignments across Europe, the US, and Asia, alongside coursework at INSEAD, further broadened my perspective.
Over time, my interests shifted from strategy formulation to what happens after plans are approved. I became increasingly focused on execution — how decisions translate into action, where momentum stalls, and why well-designed strategies so often underperform in practice.
That curiosity ultimately pulled me toward a general management path post-consulting. Wanting to create impact not just in boardrooms, but on ground, where rubber meets the road.
I went on to lead and scale multiple digital businesses across B2C and B2B contexts. Working closely with product, technology, analytics, and commercial teams was formative in learning how to design execution systems that move quickly without sacrificing quality, coherence, or control. I discovered the power of disciplined experimentation: running tightly scoped pilots to test assumptions, learn fast, and scale only what proves resilient under real operating conditions.
The invariable learning across my experiences was that the hardest part is rarely strategy—it’s execution, an organisational muscle that must be deliberately built. It requires choices around people, decision rights, and operating discipline.
I now work as an independent advisor, concentrating on this theme. My engagements span board advisory, executive advisory, and operating leadership mandates, including work with institutions such as GIFT City and the Adani Group on strengthening governance, decision-making, and execution at scale. I also lead Saffron Digital — a creative studio that helps brands establish distinct, coherent, and high-performing digital presence.
Originally from Delhi, I’m currently based in Goa.
Outside work, I enjoy being outdoors, staying active through sport, and playing chess. I read widely, and more recently have taken to writing across both non-fiction and fiction.
I’m a strong believer in less is more, and try to remind myself that quality matters more than quantity, and direction, more than speed.
